Royal Bang Pa-in Golf Club
Of the 18 holes, 15 involve water, making this a links-style strategic course. The course is flat and has undulations on both the fairways and greens. The bunkers around the greens are beautifully placed. The course is characterized by many risk-reward holes. It's tough from the full-back black tees, but the course is only 6,466 yards from the back tees (blue tees) and just 5,960 yards, less than 6,000, from the regular tees (white tees), so on days when the wind isn't strong, playing from the longer tees may be more interesting.
Originally, there were 18 holes on Course A and Course B, but in 2011, 9 courses on Course C were added. Course A and Course B are strategic courses with ponds, bunkers, and woods cleverly arranged on the generally flat terrain. Course C has ups and downs, almost no trees, and a unique design that boldly incorporates the West Area and vast sandy areas. Most of the 27 holes show bunkers, ponds, and hazards from the tee ground to the green, so you can see the attack route.
The vast area was formerly a swamp, but the land was raised to create a difference in elevation, and groundwater was pumped up to create rivers and ponds. Only 18 holes were built on a 36-hole site, and each hole is independent, so each hole has a different feel. The course is very long at 7,600 yards, and involves water hazards such as rivers and ponds, as well as many bunkers, making it very strategic. The greens are shaped boldly, making putting difficult. There are no helicopters over the bunkers, and no man-made objects other than the clubhouse can be seen from the course.
