Katathong Golf Resort & Spa
This is a hilly course located in the deep mountain valley of a former tin mine. The course name Kataton means "golden valley" and the course is surrounded by mountains. The site is full of ups and downs, and ponds and bunkers are scattered throughout, making use of the natural elevation difference with ups and downs. The fairway is relatively narrow, and there are large and small ponds, streams, palm trees, and bunkers on both sides of the holes and greens, so this course requires precise course strategy and accuracy. There are more impressive holes on the inside than on the outside. All four par 3s have a large difference in elevation, but they are fun to play. The last two holes are quite difficult. The green is almost flat, with some subtle undulations. The mountain scenery can be seen from all points on the course, and the view of the holes and the mountains behind them from the tee on the 3rd and 16th holes is particularly good. The course as seen from the clubhouse is spectacular and the waterfalls on the course are beautiful. The greens are in good condition, and both the fairway and the rough are well maintained.
