Khao Kheow Country Club (AB Course)

Khao Kheow Country Club (AB Course)

A dynamic 27-hole course that makes the most of the hilly terrain. There are 9 holes each on Course A, B, and C, and Course AB is the championship course. Many holes have OB or ponds, and the fairways are narrow, making it a challenging course even for advanced players. Among the golf courses near Pattaya, playing from the back tees here, Laem Chabang CC, and the Valley Course (9 holes) is said to be the most difficult. Not only is the course setting tough, but playing in the strong sea breezes that are unique to the course is difficult even for professionals.

Treasure Hill Golf & Country Club

A hilly course. The course is laid out in a lush forest with no houses around it, making the most of the natural terrain. The fairway is relatively tight, with large trees on both sides, and the layout boldly incorporates ponds and valleys. There are not many bunkers, but each one is large. The greens are generally small and undulating. The distance is over 7,200 yards from the full back, there are many dogleg holes, and the fairway is strategically narrowed, so it is a challenging course that even advanced players will find quite satisfying. There are many impressive par 5 holes. When I played 15 years ago, the fairway was damaged, but it has been improved this time. It is a highly strategic course with beautiful scenery.

Amata Spring Country Club

Amata Spring Country Club

A nearly flat parkland course. Many water hazards and strategically placed bunkers come into play, and water is involved in 9 of the 18 holes. The OUT course zigzags clockwise and returns to the class house, while the IN course runs counterclockwise, making good use of the circumference of two large ponds. The long OUT course requires power and aggressiveness, while the IN course requires accuracy and solid course strategy, that is, brain play, as many hazards are involved. The course is 7,500 yards long, and even advanced and professional golfers will be tested on their skills. Although the course was built in an industrial park, it is almost completely cut off from the surrounding scenery, making it a very beautiful course. It is also well maintained. After opening, in January 2006, it has a track record of hosting a major tournament called the Royal Trophy, a national team competition between Asian and European representative players. From 2006 to 2010, it hosted the Royal Trophy four times. In December 2018, the Amata Friendship Cup was held, featuring men's and women's professional and amateur teams from Japan and Thailand.
