タイ カントリー クラブ

Thai Country Club Chachoengsao

One of Thailand's leading courses. The red brick clubhouse, which appears to float on the water, is a spectacular sight. The distinctive feature of this course is the greens rather than the flat course layout. Many holes have large elevated greens with strong slopes and undulations, making them very hard and fast. In addition, the fairway grass, which was specially imported from Hawaii, is well maintained by the clubs and is like a green carpet, making it easy to walk on. The fairways appear flat at first glance, but have subtle undulations.

Course Introduction

A short dogleg right middle hole with an impressive layout. The tee shot over a pond has two fairways on either side of a huge fairway bunker. The left side is safer. The shortcut to the right requires a 260-yard carry over a pond and bunker. In the 1997 tournament, there were no black tees at the time, and Tiger Woods made par on this middle hole with an iron from the blue tee, which is 37 yards shorter. Aiming directly at the green would take more than 260 yards, and there is a large guard bunker in front of the green, but Tiger's skill in hitting the green with an iron is amazing.

A par 3 with a pond to the right of the steeply sloping green. The contrast between the pond, green, bunker, and palm trees behind the green is stunning. The green has a ridge running down the middle and slopes to the left. There is a bunker in the front left of the green.

If you hit your tee shot over 270 yards, you can take a shortcut to the fairway, but you'll have to deal with the pond on the right. The pond cuts into the right side of the fairway, so long hitters can aim for a two-on, but if you're even a little short, your shot will be caught in the pond in front of the green.

A famous par 3 hole that requires you to go over a long pond. There is often a headwind, so it is safe to aim for the left side of the green with a larger club to avoid the water. However, if you hit too far to the left, you will encounter a difficult depression, so be careful. This hole was selected as one of the best 500 holes in the world in 2000 (latest edition) by the American Golf Magazine.

A dogleg to the left. The left side of the hole is OB, and the three bunkers on the left side of the fairway come into play. Long hitters who can hit a 260-yard carry can get past the bunkers. However, the fairway where the tee shot lands is extremely narrow, so an accurate shot is required. The bunker in front of the green also comes into play for the second shot.

A slight dogleg to the left. Water comes into play twice, on the tee shot and the second shot. There is a pond on the right side of the green, so even a slight slice on the second shot will result in a big hit. The green also slopes sharply toward the pond.

A slight dogleg to the right. Most of the right side of the hole faces the pond, so every shot will involve water. For the tee shot, there is a fairway bunker and OB on the left, and a long bunker and pond on the right, so it is difficult to decide where to land the ball. For the second shot, be careful of the pond on the right. The green is long and narrow, with a pond in front and two bunkers in the back.
