Royal Bang Pa-in Golf Club

Royal Bang Pa-in Golf Club

Ayutthaya

Of the 18 holes, 15 involve water, making this a links-style strategic course. The course is flat and has undulations on both the fairways and greens. The bunkers around the greens are beautifully placed. The course is characterized by many risk-reward holes. It's tough from the full-back black tees, but the course is only 6,466 yards from the back tees (blue tees) and just 5,960 yards, less than 6,000, from the regular tees (white tees), so on days when the wind isn't strong, playing from the longer tees may be more interesting.

Black Mountain Golf Club

Hua Hin

As the name "Black Mountain" suggests, this is a desert-like valley course with a large difference in elevation that unfolds between small mountains with large black rock faces. Water hazards and bunkers are strategically placed at key points, making it a very challenging course. The fairways are designed to be wide for average hitters, but the further the tee shot flies, the narrower the fairways become, making it difficult for long hitters. The greens are large, and most of them are on the receiving end.

The course is built around four ponds, and water hazards are involved on 12 holes. While the other Old and Plantation courses at Siam CC have ups and downs, this course is mostly flat. The greens are large and par is relatively easy, so the quality of your putts will have a big impact on your score. The guard bunkers and ponds around the greens make it more strategic, but as long as the tee ground you play from is not too far away, it's not that difficult.

Pattaya

A hilly, forest course surrounded by large trees, carved into the mountains near Pattaya. It is one of the oldest courses in Thailand. It was completely renovated by Lee Schmidt in 2007. Unnecessary trees were cut down, the fairways and greens were re-sowed, and the shape of the greens was also drastically changed. In addition, fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers were created on all holes, making use of the natural terrain while transforming the course into a completely different course. The course is characterized by its undulating fairways surrounded by thick, tall trees and deep bunkers. The rough is deep and the greens are narrow, making it an extremely difficult course that requires accurate direction for every shot. There are few ponds, but many bunkers, and deep bunkers await at the point where each shot will land.

Chee Chan Golf Resort

Pattaya

A links-style course with an open view and almost flat. The charm of the course is that you can play while looking at the Great Buddha mural "Khao Chi Chan" painted on the slope of a 160-meter-high rock mountain from all over the course. The fairway is wide and has artificial undulations, and makes effective use of eight large and small ponds, combined with many strategically placed bunkers, making the area around the green particularly difficult. The design requires greater accuracy as you get closer to the green. The green is rich in undulations. There are many ponds on the OUT course, and the fairway is gentle, while the IN course has more ups and downs. Both the green and fairway are in excellent condition, and the view of the course from the clubhouse is beautiful.

The trees separating each hole are small and few in number, so there is little pressure on the tee shot, which is a slight drawback. However, each hole is designed with a mix of long and short holes, making it a course that players will not get bored of. The greens are fast compared to the average greens in Thailand.

This is a unique course with six long, six middle and six short holes, which is designed to give long hitters no advantage. Each hole has a unique and varied layout, and the bunkers, rough and ponds around the greens come into play. The course is characterized by many impressive long holes. The tee ground and the green are raised, so most tee shots are downhill and uphill to the green. The rough and the fairway are clearly separated, and if you miss the fairway, you will hit into the grassy rough where the ball sinks deep, or from the bushes. The entire fairway is undulating, so you will rarely hit from a completely flat lie. Overall, this course is more about accuracy than distance, so it is for advanced players.
