セント アンドリュース 2000 ゴルフ クラブ

St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club Rayong Chanthaburi

This course has a completely different concept from the average golf course in Thailand. As the course is named St. Andrews, it is inspired by Scottish links and is a wild course for intermediate to advanced players. Each hole has a different feel, and you can enjoy the challenge of the designer of each hole and the natural environment unique to links. Another feature is that there are two par 6 holes, the 4th hole at 700 yards and the 13th hole at 910 yards, which are about 300 yards longer than a normal par 5. The indicated distance is 7,540 yards, which seems very long, but if you subtract 400 yards from the distance of the par 6, it becomes the equivalent of a par 72, or 7,140 yards, which is actually not that long.

Course Introduction

  • St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club
  • St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club

A downhill par 3 hole with a long, narrow elevated green that is 40 yards wide. If you miss to the right of the green, you will be caught in a bunker, and if you miss to the left, the ball will roll down a steep slope, so you need to make an accurate shot to get on the green.

This is an S-shaped hole that doglegs to the right and then to the left. The tee shot requires a 240-yard carry over the pond, but because it is a downhill shot, the actual carry is 220 yards. Not only the tee shot, but also the fairway requires a wood twice. This is an extremely long hole, but it is beautiful and highly strategic. Not only the tee shot, but also the second shot must go over the pond. The green is long and narrow with undulations, and there is a deep bunker in front of the left side of the green. This par 6 hole is built in a majestic location where two long par 4 holes can be made. It is not a monotonous par 6 that you often see on other courses, but a playful hole that will not bore players who swing left, right, and left again.

A par 6 hole that has become easier after the major remodeling. The distance has also been shortened from 878 yards to 700 yards. The new layout is a dogleg to the right only for the tee shot, and the remaining 450 yards or so are straight. The pond on the right side has been almost completely filled in, so the tee shot is not over the pond, but a downhill shot to the fairway sandwiched between ponds on the left and right. The pond on the left side comes into play for the second and third shots. The fairway is tight, especially on the third, and there are two fairway bunkers on the right, so accuracy is required. The green is long and narrow, sloping to the left. There are bunkers on the left and right, and the left bunker faces the pond. If you are trying to get on in three (birdie on), the pond on the left side of the green will be a problem. Before the remodeling, it was difficult to get par, but now it has been changed into a hole where you can aim for a birdie.

A short dogleg par 4 hole to the right. The tee shot is over a pond, and if a long hitter aims straight for the green, they will be caught by the many bunkers in front. The second shot is a slight uphill shot. This hole has an impressive bunker placement.

A long hole with a nearly straight distance. The tee shot goes over a pond, and the fairway is two-tiered, with the right side lower and the left side about 2.5 meters higher. The right side of the fairway allows you to aim straight at the green, but if you slice your second shot, you are likely to be caught in the water hazard on the right side of the fairway. In addition, the second and third shots are uphill. The green is long and elevated, with a large guard bunker in front.

A long dogleg to the right par 4 hole. Both the fairway and greenside bunkers are in play. Be careful of the 2m deep bunker in front of the green.

A par 3 hole over a pond. A beautiful hole full of wildness. The bunker on the left side of the green is deep.

This is a very long hole, combining two 450-yard middle holes. The first 600 yards are straight, but with about 160 yards remaining it doglegs slightly to the right. There is OB on the left, and a pond on the right runs from the tee to the green, with the fairway divided into left and right by the difference in elevation. The green is further to the right, with two bunkers on the right and the pond right next to it coming into play. There are also two grass bunkers at the back. The green is long and two-tiered, and the difficulty increases when the pin is placed on the back tier.

The tee shot is downhill, and unless you carry it 250 yards you won't reach the fairway. The fairway itself is designed to rise up, making it a unique hole with a unique shape that looks like a cannon fairway. Bunkers are fortified on both sides of the strong cannon green.

A long short hole. The green is elevated and two-tiered with a steep slope. It is very tight, so if you don't land on the green, it will be difficult to approach from the surrounding areas, and you will have a low chance of saving par. Not only distance but also accuracy is required.

This is a dogleg hole to the left with a pond on the left side. For the tee shot, there is a large rock in the middle of the fairway, forming a double fairway on the left and right. The left fairway is a shortcut, but the landing area is narrow and the left side faces the pond. The right side is wider but takes a longer detour. There are left and right fairways for the second shot as well, but it is easier to aim for the pin by hitting the third shot from the right side, which is at the same height as the green surface. The approach shot from the left fairway is an uphill shot. The right green is strongly elevated and guarded by four bunkers. Care must be taken, especially with the deep guard bunker on the left side.
